Mood Swings Made Me Write This

I just got off the phone with 20 cents. I am emo. I feel very negative now. I don't know what caused it. Was it me? Was it mood swings? Was it the gloomy weather? Call me silly but that is how I feel now. I am always the girl that smiles most of the time. It feels different now. I think it's my mood swings.

This semester break has been really different. I somehow felt left out. Most of my friends do not seem to have time for me. It sucks when I need to make plans and nobody really turns up for my plan. I am often invited by friend's friend for gatherings. It makes me feel so not important. These statements made me sound so immature but I know I am not. I guess I am just moody. When I am negative, thoughts filled my mind. It feels different this semester.

Maybe most people think I felt left out solely because I am attached. No. My friends are still important to me. I don't know how they grade me but I grade them as people who are important in my life. Maybe I am not important to them but I guess sometimes people changed. I felt so left out. Everytime I viewed FB and I see tags of pictures of my friends. I have no idea why I felt this way. Jealous? I don't give much damn about other people but for once I actually felt ignored.

Maybe I ignored them. I am just confused. When I was in Subang, I got nobody to confide in. Yes. I stay with my best friend. But she has her own life. I can't be bugging her about my petty problems right? I remember once I was alone at home..crying was the only solution. I let out everything and yes, it feels better. I guess I am just moody. I just feel like writing out my frustration.

This is a very confusing post. I am already confused.

Oldtown Kopitiam Raised Their Prices!

I only hangout like once or twice with my friends from Ipoh during semester break. It sucks because we didn't hang out much. I have so much to tell them. It's always fun hanging out with them. Most of them are already back in universities. Public universities love to torture their students by opening new semesters at weird times during the holidays.

Met up with KC the other day. We went lunch in Tai Shu Keuk. That was his first visit after more than a decade. Shame on you, KC! You are an Ipohian ok? After makan, KC jakun and me went to Ipoh Parade aka the Land of Seafood because I kept bugging him that I need a new pair of scissors. My baby sister hid mine and never return back. Best part, she cut my NEW and NOT WORN RM3 dress with my old yet trustworthy scissors. Sigh..

Since Ipoh Parade sucks, we went to Mcdonalds in New Town. That is OUR hangout place for years. We always go there when we hangout. LOL. We ordered a set so we can share. The soft drink has NO gas. Like what turf! KC went and changed but I still get the same thing. Uber tulan with them. Bad service. KNNCCB I am a loyal customer of Mcdonalds but yet such horrendous treatment from them. Bencinya!!!

The next day, I met up with Ting for pasar malam. It's like a ritual for us to go pasar malam whenever she is back in Ipoh. I kena conned in pasar malam. I bought this fried food that looks like calamari or onion ring. I thought it's one of those but it's just bloody nuggets that shaped like calamari or onion ring. I can't believe I kena conned in my own territory..

Then, we met up with Avi and Gohzzy for a yumcha session in Oldtown Kopitiam. We concerned damn a lot. Normal stuffs we do when we hangout. Concerning is always fun. But since they are out of overpriced Curry Chicken Toast, we headed to Bunga Raya mamak nearby. Did I tell you that it cost us RM15.10 for FOUR bloody glasses of drinks? Like wtf what turf! They raised their prices so much. I used to pay RM2.80 or was it RM3 for Lemon Coke. Now it's RM3.50. Coke very expensive meh? Bloody thin slices of lemon very expensive meh? They charged me RM3.5o never mind la. Got somemore service charge and government tax. Eurgh..

Luckily my night ended up nicely. If not...

Think of me. Think of me fondlyyyyyyyyy

Kuching Trip - Day 5 (18/12/2008)

This ends the posts of me in Kuching. Bet you guys are starting to get sick of my posts of Kuching.

It was an awesome trip. I am glad that I went to Kuching. FYI, I am part Kuching-ite. Mom was from Kuching. I am proud of my Kuching blood ok? I am proud to be part Hakka as well despite that I can't speak in Hakka. I know Hokkien.

My 5 days stay in Kuching made me realised damn a lot of things. First, visiting my Mom's siblings and getting to know that I have a helluva of cousins. More than 10 cousins. Maybe more than 15? I am unsure. I met all my Uncles and Aunts. I have no idea what they talk about when I visited them. It's frustrating to try to understand. In the end, I learnt a bit of Hakka. They always talk bad about me. HAHAHAHAHA..not bad la..as in they talk about me a lot.

Then, I met my Grandfather for the first time in my life. I know. I am 21 years old and I never seen my Grandfather before. It was indeed a great exposure to be able to meet him finally. The communication didn't go so well. It sucks when I don't understand Hakka. I ended up speaking Malay with my Grandfather. He is 95 years old this year. I doubt he could remember me. I hope he does. Because I remembered him. I remembered the smell of that ointment he gave me because I was attacked by mosquitoes. I can remember how his wrinkles and saggy skin showed that he worked so hard for his family. Without him, I guess I won't be here too.

I was in touch with the nature. Something that I rarely can do when I am in Subang or Ipoh. I basically live in a concrete jungle all my life though my current house in Ipoh is situated next to a river. It feels really good to see the green and being able to touch them, it feels extra good. I wonder if those green will still be there the next time I visit Kuching.. I hope they do..

In conclusion, I am grateful that I went to Kuching.

P/S: I told you right? I met Kenny Sia in Kuching. It was a small world after all.

Kuching Trip - Day 4 (17/12/2008)

Day 4 and my journey in Kuching continues with me waking up early because I promised my 4th Aunt that I would go to the orchard with her. She owns a massive orchard behind her house.

So, I followed my 4th Aunt to her orchard behind her house. It was in the jungle. Serious ok? There was a river behind the jungle. There were mosquitoes attacking me when I enter my 4th Aunt's orchard.

Boy! I was amazed with the orchard. She planted damn whole lot of fruits and vegetables. I saw Limau Manis, Mangoes, Jackfruits, Jambu Air, Langsat and a lot more of fruits. Then, she reared chickens and ducks. Ngam ngam that time, one of the hen laid eggs and I get to see those eggs in the nest. Did I mention that I ate fruits during the 5 days stay when I was in Kuching? It feels damn fresh and awesome. I love those freshly plucked fruits for snacks whenever I am hungry.

My aunt has 17 dogs. You hear me. 17 dogs. SEVENTEEN. TUJUH BELAS. SAP CHAT. Some are cute and some are scary. Damn..Anyhow, lunch at home because Mom cooked. After lunch, laze around. Then, my cousin sister brought us to this waterfall place called Ranchan Recreational Park. Before I got off the car, I put the whole bottle of mosquito repellent on my body because I fear for mosquitoes attacks. The car smelled like me after that.

The waterfall is beautiful. Can hike a bit inside the jungle and all. People were swarming in the waterfall. I didn't dip my feet into the waterfall. It's freaking cold. Somemore slippery ok?It's not a huge waterfall but the scenery took my breath away. I never really know how to appreciate nature and environment till like this year. Guess being back in the nature is a good thing for myself. I recycle ok?

My day ended with me going for dinner with all my aunts and packing because there were so many stuffs to pack back. My 4th Aunt gave us tonnes of fruits to bring back. We can't say no because she said we are not giving her face wo.

Kuching Trip - Day 3 (16/12/2008)

It was Kuan Chien's birthday and I managed to wish him thru SMS.

Woke up early again because I slept early. Want to know why I sleep early? There were 400 channels on TV. All the channels are in Mandarin and yeah.. I can't watch TV. I had Kolo Mee again for breakfast. I am afraid I might get sick of it soon.

Kolo Mee

My journey in Kuching continues with me going to this Perkampungan Bidayuh in Serian. My 4th aunt's friend stays in Perkampungan Bidayuh. So we went there to have a look at our Bidayuh people work and live. They planted all sorts of plants so they don't have to go out and buy food. How cool is that kan? I saw the pepper plant for the first time in my life. It's beautiful. They rear a lot of animals including a snake named King Kong. It's a python and it freaked my Mom out. LOL! Oh yeah..they have dogs as well. Then, I saw this really adorable dog that looks like Bolt but it's brown in color.

Next, we headed to the must-visit Muzium Kucing. It located kinda high up and it's damn far from where I stayed. It's free entry but I bloody have to pay RM4 for my digital camera's entry. What turf! I snapped pics kao kao because my digital camera needs to pay money to get in. I am cheapskate. Sue me la..As I mentioned, I went to Muzium Kucing. There are sooooooooo many cats. I mean damn a lot of cats. What sort of cats also got. I was attracted to the mummified cat and also the cat's tombstone. It's like damn cool. Anyone who visits Kuching must go visit this museum!

For lunch, we went to this mall called The Spring. I bumped into Kenny Sia but he walked so fast so I couldn't say hello. Went to Sugarbun for lunch. It's like KFC but the chickens are a bit harder. After lunch, we headed home. On our way, we stopped at this place that sells really milky and smooth ice cream. Mom said it's been there for years. Even when she was a little girl, the shop was there already.

Day 3 ended and Day 4 would be more happening..

Kuching Trip - Day 2 (15/12/2008)

Day 2 started with me eating the best Kolo Mee ever. I woke up at 730am. What turf! So unlike me kan? After washing up and all, left the house to go to this Chinese Temple at Jalan Bukit Hantu. My aunts..yes, all my aunts wanted to go for prayers. Me being me. I was outside snapping pictures away. Practicing on my Macro shots.

After that, we headed to Indian Street for some shopping and also lunch. On the way, we stopped by the Famous Kucing Statue in Kuching. It's in front of Holiday Inn. It was a HUGE statue. Camwhore pics will not be shown. Hahaha.. Never ever thought of standing in front of this statue but there I was..it was different kinda feeling. I felt accomplished. This is Kuching! Ok ok..that was lame but I always wanted to go Kuching and being there feels damn good.

The Famous Kucings

After that, we went to some museums. No pics taken as cameras are not allowed in. Went to this Aquarium behind the Entalogy Museum. It's a very sad looking aquarium. Sigh..Then, we passed thru this really huge church. Forgot the name. This church has a very unique roof so I snapped a picture there.

It was a hot day. We ended up in Indian Street for lunch. Had Kolo Mee and Siew Mai. Kolo Mee is just ok but I like the Siew Mai. It's called Sio Bee in Kuching. It was featured in Ho Chak! before. Then, we jalan-jalan in Indian Street. Wanted to get summer dresses but the prices are higher than the ones in KL. So forget it. Then, I was in the car for a very long time stopping by at many of my Mom's relatives homes.

After that, we went to Grandfather's house. I never meet my Grandfather before. He is 95 years old and that was the first time I met him in 21 years of life. He is very old and he speaks Hakka. I speak no Hakka. I doubt he knows who I am anyway. I can remember how he looks like now. He is wrinkly. He smokes. He walks with a stick. Wonder when will be the next time I am meeting him..

After a long day, went for dinner and then rest at home..tomorrow is another day.

P/S: I didn't talk to any of my cousins during my stay in Kuching. They speak Hakka and Mandarin. I no nuts about both languages. Sigh.. I don't even know their names..
