Goodbye August 2011

Merdeka! Merdeka!

August has finally come to an end. I supposed it's a good thing. I am starting my next phase of life very soon. I am excited and anxious. There's aplenty to do and I have no mood to intend to do it. Blame the hormones! I knew I have aplenty to do and I need to do it fast. But I am just not doing anything. I guess I'll do it like later. I usually could complete things before the dateline. So, yea.. no worries.. I'm gonna settle all my stuffs in Ipoh first. I need to clean and clear out some clothes for donation. And of course, throw out some things I thought are momentos. Well, it isn't.

Haven't been exactly me lately. Just found out from my coursemates last night that I have to take out a huge sum of money for convocation. It's not cheap to begin with. I guess I'll have to rely on my parents again. I don't like to talk about money much. It ruins a lot of things. But without money, it will probably give me no life. Yes, money is that complicated. Wait.. money makes things complicated; that's more like it. I better settle all these stuffs before I have to like scream on emails about my convocation and what's not. Sometimes, it's not easy to solve these sort of stuffs.

Growing up is tough. Sometimes, I wish I don't have to. But well, I guess I wasn't given a choice. Let's hope I grow up alright! Haha. For now, I just want things to go on smoothly without much obstacles along the way. Drama is just boring! I had too much when I was younger. It's time to make a change about all these drama nonsenses.

I'll just go clear my stuffs. I'll be back in September. Ciao!

Just Food in Singapore

I have some pictures of food to share. And I am a little lazy to explain what's and what's not. I got a lot of things in my head now. Starting a new phase of life is exciting yet scary. I am looking forward to the next phase of life but then again, will I be able to handle it? I wonder..

Xin Wang, ION Mall
Lunch with my aunt and sister here. Food was so so.. but it was packed with people. I personally think that the food was just average. I am picky, oh well..

Xin Wang served HK cafe food

Chicken and Mushroom Rice in Bamboo

Milk Tea

Sushi Tei, Thomson Plaza
I frequent this place a lot when I am in Singapore. My aunt and cousins love it so yea.. we always make sure we have a meal here at least once everytime I visit.

Cawamushi - a must have everytime I go for Japanese food

Nabeyaki, I think

Ice cream with red bean

Black sesame ice cream

Ice Balls (yea, it's called ice balls)

Incontro, Robertson Walk
Dinner with my aunt and her family in this Italian restaurant. I had the best Spaghetti Marinara ever. It was sooooooo good. I need to come back here for another plate of that awesome pasta.

Hello Incontro

Complimentary soft and warm bread

Stuffed mushrooms

Tomato Soup

The bestest Spaghetti Marina ever!

Canele, Robertson Walk
Dessert in Canele after dinner. For macarons lovers, this is heaven for you. There are aplenty of colorful macarons to choose from here. But for me, it would be a good piece of cake and a pot of herbal berry tea with a book. That would be awesome for me.

Canele

Macarons delight

Strawberry Shortcake

Black Forest Cake

A pot of herbal berry tea

I can't wait to visit Singapore again! I miss my aunt and cousins already. And yes, I need to visit more touristy places. I didn't even manage to visit Clarke Quay this time.

Being 24

Yes, I am 24. I am finally 24. Turned 24 like four days ago. Sort of celebrated my 24th in Singapore. Had lunch with my aunt followed by dessert with the best friend. Yea, that's how I celebrated it.

Lunch with my aunt in TCC

My fish main course

Dessert with BFF

Berry Glitz

I don't know if it has to do with my age but birthday is no longer a big hooha for me. Maybe I didn't want to celebrate my aging process. It never comes down. Damn.. I appreciate all the birthday wishes from everyone. But I am just not feeling the celebration this year.

Why KL got no Spicy McWings?

And also Garlic Chilli sauce

I want some now~!

And I am freaking turning a quarter century next year.. Aiyoyo!

All I ever did this birthday was eat, eat and eat. I ate so much that I forgot I am 24 and getting old. Aaaahhh..

Birthday cake from my aunt

Well, at least I am legal for aplenty of things. Hahaha.

Dating The BFF

It has been like a year plus since I last saw the best friend. It's hard to see each other much because we are a strait away from each other. And both of us were busy with our final years in universities. Finally, we graduated. I finally have time to go down to Singapore to hang out with him.

My fave snack ever, Raspberry Ripple Wafer Ice Cream

The demanding me; yes..sometimes I can be demanding made him to bring me around in Singapore for some touristy stuffs. I've been to Singapore like many, many times but not once I visited any of their touristy places. So, we meet up in Orchard and then we had lunch in City Hall. The best friend treated me to this ermm.. New Zealand burger joint called The Handburger. I had their steak burger and I only managed to finish the patty and salad. The rest was left untouched. And we had Gong Cha after that. Sad to say, Gong Cha here doesn't suit my tastebuds. The pearls were tasteless. Eeee...

Mine!!

The best friend's burger

After our heavy lunch, we walked and walked under the hot sun to Merlion because I wanted to go sightseeing. I finally took a picture with Merlion. Like finally. Saw Esplanade and Marina Bay Sands too. Wish I have more time to explore though. Went to Bugis Street to chill because yes, I never been to Bugis Street. I only been to Bugis Junction; sad to say.

I think this is Esplanade

Can see Marina Bay Sands from Merlion

Merlion!

Roarrrrr...

Dinner in AMK Hub in Pepper Lunch. It was my very first time trying out Pepper Lunch. Oh so many firsts in a day! It was always fun hanging out with the best friend.. I miss him already! Chien, are you reading this? I can't wait to go off to Singapore again! :)

Pepper Beef Set

All mixed up

One of the very rare occasion we have our picture together. I wonder when will be the next time we'll meet again..

I Am 24!

Aiyo, I can't believe I am 24 today. And next year I will be a quarter century old. Aiyooooo! So old.. the frequent aiyo somewhat makes me sound older. Haha. I am 24 but I still think that I am 21. I refused to grow up!

Anyway, thanks a gazilion for all the amazing Facebook walls, text messages and Twitter message. I appreciate it you all. And also the awesome phone calls from my awesome possum friends. I love you all so much! Muackksssss...

And to my dearest 20 cents, thanks love for the text message. Sucks that we won't be celebrating it together but we'll replace it when we are both back in KL. I love you!

And to my awesome aunts for the gifts and moolah, thanks so much! I love every single of it :)

I shall blog more on the gifts and my birthday soon.. perhaps when I am back to Ipoh. Heading back to Ipoh tomorrow morning.

Oh yea.. SITT KIN HOE (aka my twin brother), Blessed Birthday to you too :)

Maxwell Food Court, Singapore

I finally did a touristy thing in Singapore after years of visiting Singapore with only intention to shop here and there. I did visit the zoo before which is like aeon years ago before I own a digital camera. I am definitely visiting the zoo and safari the next trip to Singapore soon; hopefully with 20 cents.

Anyway, I went to Maxwell Food Court twice in two days. It's like a huge food court with aplenty of hawker food which was listed in a lot of pamphlets and brochures of its variety of local food. Everytime I am in Singapore, I'll make sure that I will have soursop as dessert or as a drink. Yes, I love soursop that much. Had my tea time dessert with my aunt the other day. Guess what I had? I had Soursop Ice with Jellies. It was yummy!

Soursop dessert

Went off for lunch there yesterday before some shopping and a movie. Had Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice. I had to line up for chicken rice. A freaking long line for steamed chicken rice; mostly tourists including myself. Anthony Bourdain gave this chicken rice thumbs up. I give it thumbs up too. The chicken is as soft as the ones I usually have in SS2. And the rice smelled really fragrant. Usually, a lot of people have the perception that Singapore food wasn't so nice to eat. Trust me.. it's a wrong perception. Perhaps we have yet to adjust our tastebuds for some of their local food. But it's not much differences from our Malaysian local food.

Look at the line!

Half a chicken with soup

Steamed Chicken Rice

The rice was fragrant and tasty

Tried this noodles which I am unsure of the name. It doesn't look appealing but I love it. Hehe. The pictures of the food are all from Maxwell Food Court. For cheap and good food in Singapore, I would definitely recommend Maxwell Food Court. The weather is so hot now that I am craving for some soursop juice.

Yummy!

I can't wait to hang out with the BFF tomorrow. I need a fix of McDonald Fried Chicken Wings. Hehe.

August Is My Favorite Month!

It's not just because it's my birthday month. And so is 20 cents' birthday month. But it's because August is cool. Haha.. and it's another 4 months before the year ends. August is usually school break and there is some holidays in August.

Minions from Andrew's birthday bash

I have been stagnant for the past four months. It sucks being stagnant. All I could do is pray for the heart desires of mine. I just want to start my next phase of life soon. I didn't like the idea of staying put in such a position for such a long time. Unemployment sucks! Job oh job, come to me soon, please!! I shall refrain myself from talking about this. I am getting a little bored talking about the same thing again and again. Oh well..

My favorite savoury snack in Singapore

Watched The Rise of the Planet Apes yesterday in Vivo City. The idea of apes being smarter than human beings is rather disturbing. I know the apes meant no harm in the show but it's rather scary to have them being so smart like picking up the lock and coming up with strategies to go back to their woods for their freedom. And also sacrificing oneself for the ape leader was a whoa idea. I personally think it's a brilliant movie. The ending was rather blah but there's no such a thing as perfect eh?

My favorite sweet snack in SG

I'll be heading back to Ipoh next week. I have mixed feelings about doing so but oh well.. I got not much things to do in Singapore. Let's hope that the drama ends there and then. I just am sick of dramas and all the crazy noises at home.. I seriously hated it a lot. But I chose to remain silent because I have passed the stage of being a rebel. Being a rebel sometimes isn't exactly a bad idea. It motivates me a lot to become a very successful person. I might want to rebel but I am always thankful and being grateful of what I have. I never once had a thought of disrespecting people unless that person asked for it. Haha.

ION Mall

I am gonna post up some random pictures of Singapore and some other random pictures. For entertainment purposes. Who likes to read a bland, pictureless blog post nowadays? I know I don't unless you are a close friend of mine. I am gonna go back to my useless Facebook games.

Just because it's cute

24 Soon!

I am turning 24 soon. It's too soon. 2011 flies too fast and too soon. I am hitting the quarter century next year. Oh my! I am getting old! I have to be married in a couple of years. And I must start getting a permanent job with a stable salary to save for my future. So much to do and I am so lagging behind.. this is bad!

Anyway, on a happier note.. I've been surfing around a lot and reading aplenty of magazines to come up with my birthday wishlist which usually doesn't come true. But hey.. it's always fun to list out things I want to have or even desire. No harm what..

20 cents won't be around to celebrate my birthday with me but he promised that we'll celebrate once he is back from his NZ trip. I miss him already. Oh yea.. I am currently in Singapore for a retreat trip to be away from some chaotic and stressful drama back home.

My wishlist for 2011 would be.. taaddaaaahhh..

1) Books
If you know me, you know I love reading a lot. Like a lot. I have been reading a lot recently because of my unemployed free time status. Jodi Picoult is definitely a must read for me. And I recently indulge on some fictions by Jackie Collins and Sidney Sheldon. It's soooooo awesome to read!

2) Handbag and Clutch
I am not exactly a bag person. But the one that I am currently carrying is a bit old for me. I want something smaller and I could sling across. As for clutch, I needed one since long, long time ago. Reason being that I always bring HUGE handbag to weddings, clubs and dinners. Clutch is easier to be carry around and of course, I wanna look classy too. *hint* If anyone wants to get me one, feel free to browse here for references. Haha.

I want something like this!

And these too!

3) Shopping spree (not really la..)

I don't really fancy shopping but I do need to do some shopping for my dull and old wardrobe. And of course, I need some formal attire for working next time. So, I guess I only want a shopping spree as an investment to my future as an employee in this dog-eats-dog-world. Haha. I somehow would prefer a shopping spree in other things like cookwares, kitchen appliances and ermm.. grocery shopping. I know.. I am that weird. I guess I am just really eager to get a house after I get a job.. I think.

4) A JOB
I've graduated for more than 4 months. I've been to a lot of interviews (10 so far). I just want a good job with good benefits soon. The pay isn't much of an issue as long as it's enough for me to survive in KL. I hope I get a job soon. Like really soon..

5) Refresher course for driving
I know.. what a bizarre wishlist! I needed a lesson desperately to refresh my memories of how the roads work for me. I just want to ensure that I could drive by the time I am able to purchase my own car.

I also welcome red packets with moolah inside. Haha. And free meals too. I guess the most awesome wish would be spending time and meal with 20 cents because it's just awesome. We have been communicating a lot; more like chatting a lot when there's just two of us about anything and everything under the sky. We used to do that a lot and recently, we had such sessions again. It makes me a happy person to be able to have awesome chats with him.

Blog more soon..
