I have a test this Friday and I think I managed to finish like two chapters out of that 1873902 topics for the test. I used to be soooooooo hardworking when it comes to studying but I lost that inspiring touch once I graduated last May. What happened to that hardworking cells of mine? All I ever want to do now is just rest and just stone there. It doesn't help that my earphones decided to break down on such crucial time. Where to get a replacement on such short notice? I need my music when I study! Oh the horror! I shall make sure I'll finish studying on Thursday. I can do this!
Anyway, I got a story to share today; it's about LRT etiquette. I take the LRT to work everyday because .. I don't own a car. Driving in KL is not exactly something I would recommend either. It's not only expensive but also..the horror of traffic jam especially on rainy days is just so unpleasant. So, LRT is the least expensive and decent mode of transportation that I am willing to travel in. Don't get me started with the buses and KTMs and worst of all, the unorganized Monorail which is so overpriced and often crowded.
I was stuck in the LRT today because it was packed. So, I was standing on my two feet with NO support to hold onto. Well, I don't need the support since I am literally sandwiched between sweaty and disgusting people who kept on coughing and sneezing. It was gross; really gross. And to add on to the gross moment, the sweat from other people somewhat glided onto my hand. The sensitive me has rashes now and it's so itchy that I could scratch my skin off. I know I know.. too visual to imagine but yes.. it could happen.
I reached my destination and wanting to get off the train before the door closes. I was literally shouting, "EXCUSE ME!" but no... the couple in front of me were happily chatting away and didn't bother responding to the well-mannered me. I was rushing to get out before the door closed; so I literally knock them down and rush out because they didn't bother make way for me. Why bother being well-mannered at that time? Seriously, what's wrong with these people hogging at the entrance when NICE people like me already said,"Excuse me!"???!! What's wrong with you people? Is it funny for you to see me miss my exit? Gosh! I saw the angry faces on that couple when I budge out but I don't care.. I just want to get out!!
I am usually nice in the mornings but this is just too much. Blocking the entrance is one thing but the ignoring the other passengers who are trying to get out to go to work.. that's just plan stupid! I don't have any issue going out to let other passengers to exit but some people could be just so selfish and ignorant. The other thing about LRT etiquette that ticks me off would be people leaning on the pole which is MEANT to be for holding. Nobody wants to be in contact with those sweaty buttocks and everyone wants to be standing still because LRT's gravity is not exactly very Newton-ish. Come on la.. the pole is for YOUR hand to hold; not your big BUTTOCK to lean against on. Have some courtesy, for God's sake!
The worst LRT etiquette award goes to the selfish and ignorant young people who do not have the courtesy to give up their seats for the elderly and pregnant women or even parents with children. Some would pretend to be sleeping or reading newspapers so that they could remain sitting until their stops. That's really UNCOOL! I know everyone is tired from standing and traveling for long in the train but I think young people can endure the pain of standing than those elderly ones and also pregnant women. Can you imagine the pain that they might have to go through if they ever fall inside the LRT?? Sigh..
I am done ranting. I just hope people would realized that a simple help a day would brighten up their days.. I know it works for me. For now, I'll force myself to my books and notes. FOREX, here I come to conquer you!
